Prayer Gatherings

Join us for an informal gathering of SLF brothers and sisters for the purpose of praying to the Lord our God “as one person” (Ezra 3:1) as we gather together in one place (Acts 12:5,12).

While this is not a “service” with liturgy per se, we will take to heart Paul’s admonition that in the Church all things should be done “orderly” (1 Cor. 14:40). So, we will speak in turns, but that doesn’t mean everyone must pray out loud. Those who are comfortable and feel prompted by the Spirit can pray out loud after another has finished praying out loud. Those who are not yet comfortable praying out loud in public can pray quietly in their hearts in agreement with their brothers and sisters.

This is a ‘directed prayer’ gathering  where there will be specific items to pray about, including the weekly congregational prayer topics. We remain open to the Spirit’s leading in our prayer.
