Joey Sutton
Joey is a Lay Elder of Sovereign Life Fellowship and has been a covenant member at SLF since the Hilton hotel days in 2019!
Joey was born and raised in Marshall, TX. He met his wife Wendy when they were both students at East Texas Baptist University; they have been married for 22 years and have two daughters, Annabelle and Savanah (both current students at ETBU).
Joey’s heartbeat/desire is to help people grow in their knowledge and understanding of scripture, and ultimately Jesus Christ, fully equipped for works of ministry.
Joey enjoys kayaking, English Premier League soccer, and spending time with friends and family.
As a Lay Elder at Sovereign Life Fellowship Joey is responsible for the following:
Serves as one of the two primary Bible teachers for the Sunday Adult Focus Class.
Leading and directing Local and International Mission efforts – primarily our Pastoral Training Center partnership in Kenya.
Supporting the Executive Pastor in matters of budget and finance.
Community Group (Home Bible Fellowship) leader/Bible teacher.
Preaches and teaches as assigned by the Lead Pastor.
Assists in congregational care as needed.
